STUDENT WORK

For this project, I created three brochures for the Dunn Museum, promoting its different exhibits as well as general offerings and information. I initially intended on using the Adler Planetarium as my subject, but decided to pivot to allow myself more time for content gathering.

I visited the Dunn Museum and took my own photography to source the imagery and copy in the brochures, allowing me to have more flexibility with the layout. I was determined to create a visually captivating design that was still legible and easy to decipher.

SKETCHES

Since I originally intended to create brochures for the Adler Planetarium, I began planning space themed, interactive brochures about the museum’s exhibits and visitor information. After deciding to switch locations to avoid delaying the process, I began drafting three new brochures for the Dunn Museum, which features numerous exhibits about natural history and local settlers.

ASSET GATHERING

I made my way out to the Dunn Museum in Libertyville, IL to supply all the photography and copy in the brochures. This gave me a lot of creative freedom to pick what content I wanted to include. I took pictures of all the various subjects that intrigued me, sorting it all into three separate themes and categories I could turn into brochures.

MOCKUPS

The final three brochures I made featured one including general information about the Dunn Museum’s ticket prices, history, and more information the visitor would want to know. The other two brochures are about dinosaur fossils featured in the museum, as well as the history of settlers in the local area of Lake County.
